Me a<br />I attended kindergarten at Peter S. Ogden.<br />
I was in high school when my grade school imploded due to a tornado.<br />
The tornado made me want to get out of town, and go . . .<br />to<br />college<br />
I auditioned for a music scholarship.<br />I was a top finalist!<br />
Half would not <br />Half of us would win<br />
Someone else won.<br />
After two years at Clark, Linfield offered an academic scholarship. <br />
Linfield’s scholarship also sent me to Europe.<br />
My parents paid to keep me there<br />FOR A YEAR!<br />
I attended the University of Vienna.<br />I studied at the University of Vienna.<br />
I studied piano in a conservatory and practiced in a dank basement.<br />I studied piano in a conservatory and practiced i...
I visited over a dozen countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Luxembur...
Back at Linfield, I performed a senior recital, wrote a German thesis, and graduated<br />cum laude!<br />
But, could I get a job?<br />
All part time.<br />Yes, several.<br />
So, I went into advertising.<br />
I started in classified<br />
I broke sales records, and the retail manager recruited me to his department<br />
I tore through the county like a tornado, and sold $20 million of advertising.<br />
That took several years.<br />I won many awards.<br />
Then I got promoted.<br />
Chapter 11<br />I led the sales team that sent the company into . . .<br />
It was the economy.<br />Really.<br />
I also led the team that pulled the company out of bankruptcy!<br />Official docs a<br />
I was so happy I judged a contest for ONPA.<br />(I begged my friends to stop me from ever judging a contest again).<br />
I thanked my community with lots of volunteer hours.<br />

I’m a Willamette Writers member and volunteer.<br />VP at MGM<br />
I gather local authors for downtown’s Art in the Heart event.<br />
I also was the FEATURED speaker!<br />I emcee the Vancouver Writer’s Mixer.<br />
I brainstorm with the PR firm for the new library on promoting the grand opening.<br />
I tested a social media campaign for my birthday event.<br />
That made me a top finalist for a Pacific Northwest SoMe Award<br />(Air New Zealand, Travelocity won)<br />
In my excitement, I mistakenly sent out 300 invites to people who barely knew me to ‘link in.’<br />
I now have 300 LinkedIn connections.<br />a<br />
One called me.<br />
He was a headhunter. <br />
I thought I’d practice my interview skills.<br />
I called a friend for a reference.<br />
He offered me a job.<br />
Wow.<br />
Wow. <br />I accepted.<br />Double wow<br />
That’s sort of the end, but . . .<br />

Surprise ending! I started with the concept of the visual resume and began the quest of detailing my career path. During the course of constructing the Powerpoint a tornado of events occurred creating an unusual ending.
