Earth Camp • Earth Camp, Gopeng – 2-3 hours NW of KL • Earth Camp has accommodation and facilities built largely from re-purposed materials…. dormitories - greenhouses bathrooms - cylindrical water tanks furniture - recycled parts of the old Summit Climbing Gym wall. • excellent waste water management and rain water harvesting

BIS compulsory residential programme Outdoor & adventurous activities The objectives of the trip are as follows: ♦ To encourage a spirit of exploration. ♦ To build personal confidence and independence. ♦ To work as part of a team. ♦ To rise to personal and physical challenges. ♦ To develop and use personal organisation skills.  
  • 5. A typical day… Wake up shower then breakfast. Briefing & preparation for activity. Activity 1 Lunch at camp Briefing & preparation for activity. Activity 2 Return to camp, wash / shower, ‘relax’ Dinner in camp Evening Activities Bed!!
  • 6. Activities… • • • • Rafting & water safety Caving Hiking ‘Mountain School’
  • 7. Safety! • Risk Assessment – school & centre • 1:10 ratio max. • BIS teachers plus staff from Nomad Adventures • First aid – Nomad staff plus some BIS staff trained • Emergency procedures that work!
