Pattaya is a popular beach resort on the Gulf of Thailand just 150 km.
southeast of Bangkok: a mere two-hour drive. Because of its conve-

ing medical treatment in Thailand. In addition to many outdoor activi-
ties that are popular among those who receive non-invasive medical
treatments in Thailand, Pattaya also features a number of spas that
are ideal for relaxation and recovery as well as outstanding shopping

Another major draw for recuperating medical tourists is the wide
selection of restaurants sewing some of Thailand's freshest seafood.
In addition to excellent seafood and Thai dining venues, because of
the high number of expatriate foreigners in Pattaya,
there is an excellent selection of authentic foreign eateries serving
French, Italian, Swiss, German, Hungarian, Scandinavian, English,
Indian, Middle Eastern, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine.
As one of the premier tourist destinations in Thailand, Pattaya has

located approximately 862 kilometers south of Bangkok and is often
dubbed “the Pearl of the Andaman”, or “the Pearl of the South".
Phuket’s natural attractions include white powdery beaches, lime-
stone cliffs, broad and tranquil bays, tropical in—land forests, and 32
smaller islands. Along the coast are dozens of beaches, each with
its own characteristics, ranging from lively Patong Beach to more
secluded Mum Nai Bay. For those headed to Phuket for medical
tourism, whether dental work, cosmetic surgery, or detox at a medi-
cal spa, Phuket is the ideal destination for combining medical treat-
ment with relaxation and recovery.
In addition to many activities and attractions on Phuket itself, there
are numerous convenient day trip attractions surrounding the island
that are great opportunities for medical tourists or their companions
to experience. To the east of Phuket lies Phang Nga Bay, one of the
top destinations for sea kayaking.
The spectacular islands of Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park are also
only a short boat trip from Phuket. A visit to these breathtaking
islands is often the highlight a trip to Thailand and is an ideal way to
make the most of the holiday aspect of a medical tourism holiday.
Phuket also features a dizzying array of accommodation options,
ranging from luxury hotels to family friendly beach resorts, secluded
island villas to budget hotels. A number of these are spa resorts or
feature world-class spas designed to help guests relax and rejuve-
nate themselves. In fact, the number and quality of Phuket's spas
make it a top choice for medical tourists who are looking for a beauti-

5. KOH SAMUI
Koh Samui, Thailand's second most popular island destination, is
located in the Gulf of Thailand roughly 700km south of Bangkok.
Samui is the largest in an archipelago of more than 80 islands that
includes the Ang Thong National Marine Park, a kayaking paradise
and top day trip from Koh Samui, While Samui is small enough to be
circumnavigated in just a couple of hours by motorbike or car, the
island features such a variety of beaches and activities that it would
be impossible to experience everything in a single visit.
However. some people are simply looking for a peaceful place to
relax and recover; a place to allow both their bodies and minds to
recuperate after medical treatment. Fortunately, Samui features a
few quieter beaches that are ideal for relaxation, particularly those
that have some of the finest 5-star resorts in the world and some that
exude old world charm. There are a number of outstanding spas on
the island that will pamper recovering patients and their companions
equally well, helping both find relaxation and harmony within an idyllic
and peaceful environment.
All in all, Koh Samui features modern amenities and convenience for
those who aren't looking for adventure, but simply want to relax
comfortably after receiving medical treatment either in Bangkok or at
one of Samui’s treatment facilities.
