  • Explain OWL Assignment and give module definition (a structured tutorial…) Staffed by graduate students who provide customer support and technical support. Office hours: 1604, BB 04.02.36, Friday 1 pm to 2 pm or by appointment
  • Every student for the OWL Assignment will take the Initial Assessment. There are no initial assessments for the supplemental module.
  • Every student for the OWL Assignment will take the Initial Assessment. There are no initial assessments for the supplemental module.
  • Each of the four initial assessments might only take you about 20 minutes to complete, but you have 45 minutes for each section. Students last semester took on average less than 45 minutes to complete each assigned module. There are no time limits on modules and you can start and stop at your own pace. Each Completion Assessment section will take about 15 minutes to complete, but you have 25 minutes for each section. Warning: You can take breaks BETWEEN assessments, but don’t start an assessment and walk-away – the assessment will eventually time-out and you will be locked out from that assessment section.
  • Go to www.utsa.edu Click on ‘Quick Links’ and get a drop down menu. Click on ‘WebCT’.
  • Type in your WebCT ID and Password. Your WebCT ID is usually your first initial plus your last name. Your Password is your Banner ID; start the Banner ID with the @ sign.
  • Please read the text on this page before clicking on the school house to enter.
  • The Table of Contents will be shown later in the presentation.
  • The ‘Course Menu’ is important for viewing grades and posting email to Prof. OWL.
  • If you are not ready to take the quiz, then click on the “Exit” button – this will take you back to the module If you are ready to take the quiz, then click on the “Begin Quiz” button
  • You cannot continue until you have clicked ‘Ok’. Do not click anywhere else.
  • OWL Staff members do not give credit. Dr. Wilson/J.R. (or Dr. Leffel and Lisa) will handle grading. We just provide a list of assessment grades and completion.
  • All four initial assessments. Each assigned module. Each assigned completion (post) assessment. Work at your own pace, but don’t wait until the last minute. Consult your syllabus for the due date.
