  4. 4. Partnering 21st century business the Brunel School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics The MTech ICTB is delivered by the School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics at Brunel University, West London. We are a leading European centre for Information Systems research and have around 70 research staff active across a wide spectrum of specialist areas. In parallel with our strong research culture, we work in close partnership with industry, commerce and the public sector, running many postgraduate student projects in direct collaboration with forward-thinking companies and government bodies. Against this background, The MTech ICTB will provide IT professionals with an excellent platform for consolidating their personal development, theoretical knowledge and wider ICT-related business skills. “The Brunel MTech ICTB offers me a chance to understand directly a little of the huge range of research being undertaken today. Of more importance though, is that the MTech is rekindling a love of research and an enjoyment of theory that had somewhat faded over the two decades since my first postgraduate course.” Dominic Hyland MSc. CISSP Chief Architect “The MTech ICTB is a unique opportunity for me to combine work experience with academic perspectives to consider a work-based issue. I’m being exposed to new experiences, meeting new people, exchanging ideas and learning new analytical and communication skills. This course has forced me to think differently in my approach to work and is both challenging and rewarding.” Nigel Stark Project Manager “Personally I am already seeing a change in my working behaviour, in terms of confidence, innovative approach, and an ability to look at problems and processes from a wider set of dimensions than I would have done previously. From the perspective of my sponsors, the business problems and potential solutions we are investigating should bring benefits far greater than the costs of the investment.” Andy Parker Senior Development Manager School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics Brunel University, Middlesex, Uxbridge UB8 3PH Tel +44 1895 265939 Fax +44 1895 269728 Web www.brunel.ac.uk//discpg E-mail cs-msc-courses@brunel.ac.uk
