  • [Talk track:]In order for wholesale distribution companies to achieve continued success in the current business environment, they must focus on providing superior service, anytime, anywhere, to their customers, their suppliers, and deliver outstanding financial results to their stakeholders. They accomplish this by:Offering differentiated products and services at the right price. This will enable them to engage in business across multiple sales channel, driving sales growth. Improving financial efficiency, which allows wholesale distributors to improve profitability by reducing charge-backs and days sales outstandingAchieving operational excellence across the enterprise, allowing them to better utilize assets and delight their trading partners and of course drive lower costs.
  • [Talk track:]Much of the world today operates in a mobile environment – and business is no exception. Business processes no longer require people to be tied to their desktops or landlines. As your employees, customers, partners, and the rest of the business ecosystem becomes mobile, companies are asking themselves the following questions: How can mobility solutions help us do what we do better? What simple tasks could businesspeople perform at any time, regardless of physical location? What are the five top-priority business services that could be delivered through mobile devices better , faster, and cheaper?Mobility can help make business processes more efficient and more cost-effective, for all types of businesspeople – executives, line-of-business managers, business consumers and individual users – as well as consumers and ecosystem. A telling example is that of approval workflows. Approvers no longer need to be logged on at desktop computers to approve requests, but can do so anywhere, which can drastically cut down the process time and increase employee productivity.
  • [Talk track:]In previous slide we looked at the characteristics of best run wholesale distributors and also at the merits that mobility brings to the table. Now lets have a look at how can we tie the two together - how can these capabilities help transform wholesale distribution companies? Here are some examples of things every wholesale distributors want to have the ability to do – which mobility makes possible: Put accurate, rich, and timely information in salespeople’s hands – how many times you feel that your sales people would have the edge over competition if they just had that extra piece of information on competitions pricing for example? Well, mobility allows you to do that. Have faster data capture, better decision support, and shorter collection cycle – wouldn’t it be great if processes at all level of your organization will be easier to resolve? If data can be captured anywhere, anytime – in real time? This can result in reduced days sales outstanding, higher profitability, and even improved cash flow. Respond faster to changing market conditions – when and where it happens. Having the information at the tip of your fingers can really help when it comes to customer satisfaction and employee productivity
  • [Talk track:]How do mobile capabilities enable business transformation in wholesale distribution? Here are some more concrete examples of how SAP mobility can help you solve problems you always had, across different line of businesses:Sales:You want your sales people to haveaccurate, rich, and timely information. Here is how SAP can help you: Salespeople can use the product catalog and combine it with customer information, market alerts, historical orders, and available promotions, to more effectively suggest and take orders. They can be agile and take advantage of opportunities as they come up rather than react to changing situations.Salespeople can provide a more effective sales experience to customers with real-time, accurate, and actionable information. It helps them differentiate and better serve customers.Finance:You want your finance people to be able to capture data faster, have better decision support, and shorter collection cycle. Here is how SAP can help youDirect-store and cash-on-delivery wholesalers can collect payment on the spot –accelerating the collection cycle. Finance personnel can access information on key performance indicators, anywhere and anytime, and then act on them to drive better results and performance for the company.Supply Chain:You want your supply chain to respond faster to changing market conditions – when and where it happens – here is how SAP can help youSupply chain personnel can quickly notify the changes in demand signals. This helps the planning and replenishment group to respond quicklyand satisfy the demand, helping customers meet their requirements. When customers urgently need to know where there order is, you can provide instantaneous information and help alleviate the stress and anxiety.Drivers can present adjusted invoices while onsite to accelerate the order-to-cash cycle.Bottom line: Mobility enables wholesalers to put real-time and relevant information in the palm of their users’ hands to up the tempo of their business and drive higher business performance.
