  • 1. E-mail is one of the services provided by the Internet. In order to communicate online, you need to create an email account. There are several email service providers on the Internet. An e-mail account is also referred to as an e-mail ID . Using your e-mail account, you can do the following: Following are some examples of the e-mail services: Creating an E-mail Account
    • Send or receive mails
    • Reply messages
    • Forward your mails to others
    • Attach and send files
    • Chat with friends

    • Now let’s see how to create an e-mail account. We have taken Gmail as an example of an e-mail service.
    • Type www.gmail.com in your browser’s address bar and press Enter . The welcome screen is displayed.
    • Click the Sign up for Gmail link. The account creation form is displayed.
    • Enter your first name, last name, and the desired Login Name . You can check the availability of the Login name.
    • Enter the password and retype to confirm it.
    • Provide a security question and answer. This helps in case you forget the password.
    • Enter the characters for Word Verification .
    • Click the Create my Account button.
    • Congratulations!!!
    • You have an e-mail (Gmail) account now. You can start sending and receiving mails from your Gmail account.
    Enter your personal details in this section. Enter password in this section. Choose a security question and provide an answer. Provide details of secondary e-mail account, if any. Enter the characters for word verification. Click here. Creating an E-mail Account Continued…
