  1. 1. Evaluation for A2 MediaCoursework 2011-2012 By Temitope
  2. 2. Questions I will be evaluating. The questions I will be evaluating are:1) In what ways does your media product use, develop orchallenge forms and conventions of real media products? 2) How effective is the combination of your main product andancillary texts?3) What have you learned from your audience feedback?4) How did you use new media technologies in the constructionand research, planning and evaluation stages?
  3. 3. For my first question: ‘In what ways does your media productuse, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real mediaproducts?’ I will divide it into three sections. These sections areof each product I produced finally which are:My teaser trailer. My posterMy magazine cover.
  4. 4. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?Teaser trailerIn my teaser trailer, I used many ways in order to achieve adeveloped platform of convention media. This was achievedthrough my research into the industry and many otherproducts prouduced. I was able to used ideas and constructmany of my own to develop my product further. The teasertrailer’s I reserached were: Saw V, Scream 4 andParanormal activity 3.
  5. 5. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? In terms of my Mise-en-scene, I decided that from thebeginning, the setting would be calmer and settle. The lightingwould be more bright and neutral to imply that the character isof a normal state. The character would have a normal attirewhether a skirt or trousers. Her body language would be of areasonable ordinary person. This is conventional astypically, teaser trailers in the genre of Horror and thiller, bein ina suttle manner. As well as communicated through sound, thereis also the use of lighting bright colours and the facil expressionof the charcter, (whiter be more relaxed or hostile)An example of this is shown on the next slide.
  6. 6. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  7. 7. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? The use of the analysis of the media product, could beillistarted in my final piece as some parts are quite similar. Ibelieve that in Saw V, some conventional techniques suchas the use of clips, could be seen as a development for myfinal teaser trailer piece.
  8. 8. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  9. 9. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?A deep contrast in my first point, the lighting would bedarker than in the first scene. The friend of the maincharacter would also be a contrast to her and also be of areasonable ordinary person at that moment in time. Thiswould be done through her behaviour and attire. This againis very conventional, because typically, in a teaser trailerending or beginning is definite contrast either good or badis seen.
  10. 10. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  11. 11. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? However, in some scene’s location were not asconventional. In eariler scenes, a more homly, setting wasintroduced to the audience. However, in some areas, as theteaser trailer progressed, the setting for the more harshscenes were very ‘neutral’ in comparision to the harshsetting displayed when viewing professional products.
  12. 12. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

  15. 15. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  16. 16. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?Even the props used and colours used were veryconventional, the use of red and drak colours implied, contrast.
