    • Twitter? What is that?!
      Micro Blog: The same as any other blog but with a character limit.
      Twitter has a character limit of 140 to ease the use of text message interactivity.
      You can follow (stalk) anyone on twitter.
    • Advantages of Twitter in Education
      Send a message to the entire class instantly!
      Use services such as twitpic and tiny url to shave pictures and videos.
      The 140 character limit will teach students how to summarize ideas and get to the point.
      You can search for any word and see how other people are using it.
      Many teachers and ESL groups use twitter and give short exercises such as:
      @englishfeed
      @esljobproject (find jobs abroad)
      @whytheyteach
    • Disadvantages of Twitter in Education
      The 140 character limit promotes the use of internet terms such as lol, asl, brb, omg and incorrect spelling.
      Not the best tool for in classroom activities
      Distractions created by the other users that the student might follow.
      The student might not find the teacher's post if he/she follows too many people.
    • FAIL WHALE
    • Podcasting101
      A podcast is either a video or audio “show” released periodically via an rss feed.
      An RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication) is a channel through where files, such as in the case of podcasting, like audio or video are syndicated onto the web.
      Most podcasts are usually done in the form of a “talk show” and are created by normal people so anyone can be a podcaster.
    • A Podcast is NOT…
      … a simple individual audio file.
      … posting other forms such as an audiobook, television series, etc… Podcasts are mostly similar to a radio show.
      … Grey’s Anatomy. You will never find a television show on Twitter.
      … Youtube.
      … an iPod. An iPod is not even needed to listen/watch a podcast.
    • Advantages of Podcasting in Education
      Online classes.
      Teach a broader audience.
      Education on the go.
      Students can put their podcast on a portable device and listen/watch it anywhere.
      Pause and rewind.
    • Disadvantages of Podcasting in the Classroom
      Little to no interactivity.
      Time.
      Fast forward.
