Viral marketing is the best way to get our film out there and create a 'buzz' before the actual release of the film. Marketing phenomenon that facilitates and encourages people to pass along a marketing message. Advantages:High reach - The restrictions of internet platform are much lower than other traditional channels, it just need a "click", the message can be sent to a large group of people' s mailbox. And lean on the social network between users, the message can be spread widely, even to the people who not in the company's database.Low Cost - Viral marketing usually uses e-mail, social networks, blogs and videos, if it just post on internet, it may only a small cost or even free of charge. Even if you use TV ad, you can also post on YouTube to save the cost of the later part of buying the media spot. Disadvantages:Antipathy - The message may be sent to he people who don't want to receive, moreover if the message repeat and repeat be appeared, it will create a bad feeling, and it may also affect the brand image
WORD OF MOUTH This is the most simple and quick yet effective way of viral marketing. It is also a more personal strategy of communication with fellow people.
MAIL OF CHAIN This is the most fastest, repetitive and effective way of marketing but it can also be quite annoying as your constantly getting emails forwarded from one person to another like a cycle.
BLOGGING AND SOCIAL NETWORKING This strategy is similar to word of mouth but through the internet. As technology is changing every second and more people on social sites, the more fans it’ll get. Great, fast and fun way spreading the word. Also visually because you can have film posters as profile picture etc.
OUR VIRAL MARKETING STRATEGIES: leak mini clip of the film (very short..20 till 30 seconds) and have no mention of the title, stars or director, just the release date. Release a series of clips simultaneously. Leak mini poster campaigns of the 'past' revealing details one by one from release date to title of film and stars. Produce mock PSA (Public service Advertising) Create opportunities and competition for actress' to participate in the film
