Leslie Eveland 5 Dynamics - Presentation Transcript

    1. Program for the Future Conference A Summit and Workshop on Collective Intelligence December 8-9, 2008
      • A powerful assessment that identifies individual differences in how people prefer to learn, create and collaborate
    2. Collective Intelligence
      • Developing collective Intelligence requires that people understand and use their differences synergistically
    3. Focuses on process differences rather than on personality differences. The assessment is based on the fundamental process that underlies everything we do. Preferred Process
    4. This fundamental process underlies everything we do 1. Every endeavour starts with an awareness , an idea or perception 3. To continue moving forward you analyze the energized idea and develop your plan 4 . To conclude the endeavour you move into action and complete the plan with energy and awareness . 2. To move forward you generate and focus energy on the idea or awareness
      • 5. At the end of the process you can:
      • Assess your external success in achieving desired results
      • And assess your internal satisfaction with the process
      Preferred Process
    5. 5 Dynamics measures how a person’s energy changes as they move through their preferred process Preferred Process
    6. The 5 Dynamics Energy Map shows how energized a person is in each phase of their preferred process S T R E s S This mode is avoided. Performance in this mode is erratic and tense EXTREME This mode is easiest. It is used primarily and almost exclusively, to the point of overflow EFFORTLESS This mode is easy and enjoyable to use - it flows DELIBERATE This mode is used as needed to adapt to a situation - it is less flowing and easy Energy Intensities Depicted by Shape
    7. 5 Dynamics measures energy focus and preferred process - not competence, experience or IQ
    8. The 1 st Dynamic: Explore
      • The power to connect the seemingly unconnected
      • Seeing the big picture
      • Creating visions and new ideas
      • Solving problems by thinking “out of the box”
      • Seeing future implications in every action
      • Being aware of feelings and undercurrents
    9. The 2 nd Dynamic: Excite
      • Experiencing and generating excitement
      • Connecting with people
      • Sharing ideas and feelings
      • Entertaining and attracting attention
      • Getting “the word” out
      • Communicating by any means
    10. The 3 rd Dynamic: Examine
      • Analyzing, investigating, looking at all information
      • Basing decisions on data and logic
      • Planning and preparing
      • Organizing and developing structure and systems
      • Creating timelines, schedules and deadlines
      • Exposing flaws and correcting mistakes
    11. The 4 th Dynamic: Execute
      • Action-oriented
      • Achieving results
      • Focusing to get the job done
      • Accomplishing no matter what is in the way
      • Quick to respond
      • Driving self and others
    12. The 5 th Dynamic: Evaluate 5 Dynamics does not measure the 5 th Dynamic because it is not a distinct energetic process Evaluation is done by using the first four Dynamics
    13. Evaluating Success and Satisfaction How Successful and Satisfied am I overall? . Most people evaluate their success and satisfaction at the end of any task by using their preferred Dynamics, which are probably the same Dynamics that drove their actions. “ We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” Albert Einstein
    14. The Power of The 5 th Dynamic
      • 1 st Dynamic Focuses on how creative you were, and assesses how well you grasped the big picture and envisioned possibilities
      • 2 nd Dynamic Focuses on your relationships with others and assesses how well you engaged and energized them
      • 3 rd Dynamic Focuses on the quality of your data, reasoning and planning
      • 4 th Dynamic Focuses on how effectively and efficiently you met your goals
      • 5 th Dynamic
      • Focuses on your overall success and satisfaction
5 th Dynamic EVALUATION uses all of the Dynamics to assess success and satisfaction.
    15. Helps people align their energies to move through process together so that they can work synergistically
      • 1 st Explore:
      • See the same big picture
      • Develop a shared vision
      • of the future
      • 3 rd Examine:
      • See the same facts
      • Develop coordinated
      • plans
      • 5 th Evaluate
      • Assess your success achieving desired results
      • Assess your satisfaction with the process
Dynamics helps people align their energies to create collective intelligence & synergy
      • 2 nd Excite:
        • Connect, Engage and
        • Build Trust
      • 4 th Execute:
        • Take action
        • Achieve results
        • Hold one another
        • accountable
