  17. 17. 1 . R e s e a r c h M e t h o d o l o g y © TechSci Research Product Definition : TechSci Research has covered and considered helium, whose unique properties allows usage in applications such as cryogenics, inert atmosphere, fiber optics manufacturing, leak detection and other applications. Helium, with no substitute in certain applications such as low temperature cryogenics, is viewed as an important commodity. Also considering the small molecular size and chemical inertness, helium proves to be an ideal gas for leak detection. Baseline Methodology : For the study, TechSci Research have gathered information through primary research surveys with 15 respondents from 8 companies dealing either producing, refining or distributing helium followed by counter validating the information by analysing best available financial reports of these companies. We also put through exhaustive search of credible paid databases such as Hoovers, Factiva, Bloomberg etc., including our internal database. Our team of analysts have then prudently evaluated all the collected information and personated them in chronological order to depict a meaningful and clear portrait of global helium market. While compiling the data we have also crossed checked all the collected information from multiple sources and data warehouses, so that we can present the most accurate and precise information of the concerned industry. The team encountered a number of challenges during the span of the project such as extracting data from the market was difficult as the information is beheld among leading players in the market. In addition to this language barrier also posed a hurdle in some countries, where English is not one of the primarily spoken language. Sources : Company Annual Reports, Bloomberg, Factiva, UN Comtrade. 17 Respondents Interviewed From Linde, Air Liquide, Supagas, Praxair, Air Products & Chemicals, Buzwair Industrial Gases, Gazprom, etc.
