    • How do you feel about being named a finalist in the 2010 Tech Awards?
      We're excited to be named a finalist for the MITX Tech Awards; it's great recognition.
    • If you could describe your innovation in one succinct sentence, how would you describe yourself?
      Unica Interactive Marketing OnDemand enables marketers to quickly analyze visitor and customer behavior, and design and deliver email and web content that’s more personal, relevant, and effective—all in one intuitive application.
    • How was your company founded, and what inspired its creation?
      Unica was founded in 1992, originally as a data mining company; our founders performed research in data mining while at MIT. Our current focus on creating software for marketers evolved from the search for practical applications of this sophisticated technology.
    • What makes your company different from other companies in your market space?
      It’s our focus; we’re the largest software company focused on the needs of marketers. We offer the industry's most complete and flexible suite of marketing software solutions.
    • What has been your company's greatest accomplishment in the past year?
      It's difficult to highlight just one accomplishment; over the course of an economically challenging year, we've been able to extend and enhance our product line while increasing our industry leadership position. We’ve also seen continued momentum of our subscription business. We've never lost focused on developing powerful solutions for marketers.
    • What is your greatest asset?
      Our greatest asset is our staff.
