Appliances?By definition the kitchen is a room used for food preparation that is typically equipped with astove, a sink for cleaning food and dishwashing, and cabinets and refrigerators for storing foodand other kitchen appliances. A kitchen is considered to be the most important part of a completehome. It is the center stage of the home. So invariably the appliances used in the kitchen are alsoquite significant. For the housewives, buying kitchen appliances just likes shopping in thedepartment stores. Women will be excited for one day, just because they buy a perfect kitchenappliance for their kitchen. If you are a man, you will never understand the exciting feelings whenyour wife buys a wonderful kitchen appliance. The best kitchen appliances are so important tocomplete a warm home, for they are your close family members.Kitchens have been around for centuries, however, it was not until post-civil war period that themajority of kitchen appliances were invented. The reason was that most people no longer hadservants and housewives working alone in the kitchen needed culinary help. Also the advent ofelectricity greatly advanced the technology of labor saving kitchen appliances.

Over 185 patents forcoffee grinders and over 500 patents for apple/potato peelers were patented in the 1800s. Earlypeelers were made of iron and the patent number and other information was included in thecasting. Peelers ranged from the familiar and simple round swiveling rod with a knife blade thatpeeled skin, to contraptions full of gears and wheels that could peel, core, slice and section.Paper TowelsThe Scott Paper Company was founded in Philadelphia by Irvin and Clarence Scott in 1879.Brothers Seymour and Irvin Scott ran a paper commission business for twelve years, but the pooreconomy in the 1870s forced them out of business.
