    2. What’s a Dev Camp?
      • DevCamp is a BarCamp for developers
      • Not a Code Camp, per se
      • BarCamps are ad-hoc gatherings
      • For people to share and learn in an open environment
      • Technically speaking, an agenda-less “unconference”

      • Formerly known as WPF/E
      • Similar to WPF
      • Uses XAML
      • Vector based graphics
      • Runs on Window, Mac and Linux
        • Will run on Windows Mobile in future
      • Version 1.0 is released
      • Version 1.1 is in Alpha
    14. Versions of Silverlight
      • 1.0
        • Uses Javascript for interactivity
        • Supports High Def Streaming
      • 1.1
        • Uses .NET for interactivity
        • Has a scaled down CLR
          • Called AG CLR (AG = Silver)
        • Supports High Def Streaming
    15. Javascript Gets No Respect
      • Many enterprise & component developers are waiting until version 1.1 ships to develop content for Silverlight.
      • However, this is missing the opportunity Silverlight presents.
    16. The Competition
      • Rich Internet Applications (RIA) have been around for a while.
      • For past ten years, Flash has dominated the market
        • Adobe Flex is an IDE built on top of Flash with J2EE & JSP
      • Sun recently introduced JavaFX
      • Silverlight State of the Union A Tour of Some Interesting Silverlight Web Sites
