  4. 4. A moving from a lifestyle of greater consumption.
  5. 5. Towards a lifestyle based on voluntary simplicity.
  6. 6. Simple living is a kind of lifestyle (it's not marketing).
  7. 7. In wich individuals choose living with less.
  8. 8. I repeat: they just “choose” living with less.
  9. 9. Because they don't need too much stuff to be happy.
  10. 10. People who practice voluntary simplicity act consciously.
  11. 11. They reduce their need for purchased services or goods.
  12. 12. So they don't need to sell their time for more money.
  13. 13. They can work a little less and enjoy their free time.
  14. 14. Free time (or freedom) makes people happiest.
  15. 15. Happy people don't have to consume to feel good.
  16. 16. When you buy “eco things” you are just cheating yourself.
  17. 17. Because you are still buying just like before.
  18. 18. But you are not doing the downshifting at all.
  19. 19. Simple living is not like poverty.
  20. 20. Because simple living is voluntary simplicity.
  21. 21. And poverty is not a choice.
  22. 22. Simple living is not a pill.
  23. 23. Simple living is just a choice.
