What is the Purpose of the Training Course for Teachers?
To enable you, the teachers and instructors, to fully appreciate the basis of the Kids Initiative Program and to acquire its necessary know-how, through videoconferencing.There are two types of programs:
Theme-based Sharing andProject-based Learning .
For effective planning, preparation and implementation of the Kids Initiative Program, important points to note are as follows:
・　how to lead the program
・　how to adapt sessions to your students’ everyday studies
・　how to make use of the latest learning and teaching methods
・　how to utilize ICT for classroom instruction and learning
・　how to work together with students and teachers in other countries and regions

Toolkit for Planning, Preparation, and Implementation
This training course provides a Kids Initiative Program Handbook and Toolkit that helps to effectively plan, prepare, and implement the program.
The course comprises four modules.
The modules can be reviewed individually, according to your needs.

In Theme-based Sharing, students and teachers share information on themes such as environmental protection, science and technology, art and culture, education, and world resources at a videoconference.

　Trial Experiences of Theme-based Learning Sessions (optional)
If you are specifically interested in sessions on Theme-basedSharing, study combinations of modules 1, 2 and 4 can be arranged.

(Module 3)
International Exchange Based on Project-based Learning
In Project-based Learning, a theme or topic is first shared with the counterpart school.
Students form groups, plan and conduct study, then present their findings in multiple videoconferences.

If you are specifically interested in sessions on Project-basedLearning, study combinations of modules 1, 3 and 4 can be arranged.

(Module 4) Instructional Design for Project-Based Learning and Theme-based Sharing
An overview to help deepen participant understanding of Instructional Design which can be used for the planning and implementation of Theme-based Sharing and Project-based Learning.

　Adaptation to Kids Initiative Sessions
Creation and Planning of Curriculum, Student Guidance at Preparation Stage, Methods of Activity Assessment, etc.　

　What Can Be Achieved Through the Kids Program?
*Teachers and Instructors can:- hone their skills in promoting student learning activities - acquire practical knowledge to help students to accelerate their learning
- share experiences on international education with participants in other countries
*Children can:
- communicate directly, through videoconferencing, with counterparts in different countries
- acquire new knowledge from multicultural exchange
- develop communication skills, organized methods of thinking and observation
