Nike’s Olympic Gear For Athletes Without Countries:
The 2012 London Olympics have given Nike an opportunity for innova-
tion. For the four participants “who aren’t playing toward a medal count…
because their countries don’t have recognized National Olympic Commit-
tees,” Nike has designed unique jackets, scarves, and sneakers with every

Italian Coffee Brand Introduces Edible Coffee Cup:
No need for a trashcan with this coffee mug – just eat it when you’re done!
This edible cup designed by the company Lavazza, is ultimately just a
cookie but also includes “a sugar layer [inside which] acts as a sweetener
for your drink,” making for a convenient and tasty creation. PSFK

Functional Electric Wheelchair Made From Lego:
Simon “Burf” Burfield claimed to have built the world’s first motorized
wheelchair that can carry a person weighing up to 90 kg (198 pounds).
The wheel chair is fully functional, complete with multi-directional wheels

Seeing Through Walls With a Wireless Router:
Scientists have now assembled a device that tracks existing wifi signals
to spy on people through walls, detecting moving objects from behind a
wall, detecting a person’s location, speed, and direction.

guards:
Scientists in Tokyo have created a human-like swimming robot that

Turning NYC’s Iconic MetroCard into a Massive Urban Game:
New York’s MTA announced plans to sell advertising on the front of the
MetroCard. Wayne Congar and Brendan Bilko, two young Brooklyn de-
signers from Mayday, Mayday, Mayday proposes that the MTA should en-
gage New Yorkers in an urban game by using these MetroCards as puz-

At The Olympic Village, Free Street Food for the Athletes:
To give athletes an alternative to the dining hall, the organizers set up a
food court offering foods from around the U.K. in a quiet corner of the
Olympics Village. Athletes come and go with acoustic guitars, books or
iPods, while enjoying foods like fresh strawberries from Scotland, Welsh

Tiffany & Co. Asks Street Artists to Update Their NYC Storefronts:
The high end jewelry brand asked four creative talents to interpret the
meaning of true love through a large wooden canvas in front of the Tiffany
& Co. storefront located in the SoHo area of New York. Each artist’s work
was on display for a week started from July 16 and ending next week. PSFK

Wieden & Kennedy Wins Southern Comfort:
Already in preparation for their newest campaign, Wieden & Kennedy
makes moves in the liquor industry with its new client Southern Com-
fort. The agency plans to give the once “product-focused” brand a new
focus in advertising by emphasizing more about the “‘attitude of the

Cheil Worldwide has taken an interest in the award-winning local adver-
tising agency McKinney and added them to their portfolio of other at-

Omnicom Media Group has acquired a partnership with yet another busi-
ness entity – advertising agency MediaMind. MediaMind is a largely digi-
tally focused company that believes this affiliation will “allow [them] to
