Paintings, oil on canvas - Presentation Transcript

  1. Paintings: oil on canvas Symona Colina
  2. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • The sea, she is leaving shells on the shore.
    • I pick them up,
    • One by one,
    • Fill them with al kinds of thoughts and dreams.
    • The sea, she is picking them up,
    • Taking back all the shells she left on the shore,
    • All at once.
  3.
  4. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • Height, width, ‘depth’
    • A painting,
    • A space …
    • A cube has six fields,
    • Regular squares.
    • To make it more clear that the one in the distance
    • Comes very near in being the one at the front,
    • I gave them the same size.
    • The canvas is a regular square,
    • I suppose that leaves five fields.
    • One on the left, one on the right,
    • One in the distance.
    • Four edges.
    • Height, width, ‘depth’
    • A painting,
    • A space.
  5.
  6. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • A shield to Protect,
    • .. shield to Hide,
    • ............. to Use,
    • ................. Whish,
    • ................ Have,
    • ............... Find,
    • .............. Carry,
    • ............. Hold,
    • ............ Show,
    • ........... Admire,
    • .......... Want,
    • ......... Desire,
    • ........ See,
    • ....... Dream,
    • ...... Wander,
    • ..... Wonder,
  7.
  8. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • Dodecahedron
    • I used a dodecahedron,
    • as a start of.
    • To create a painting,
    • a space.
    • Where possible or not possible are coming
    • together on the surface of the canvas.
    • Balancing on the edges.
    • Leaving maybe a sense of wonder behind.
  9.
  10. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • Fiera, mongolfiera:
    • Fair …,
    • A place where people come together,
    • An event where people float together.
    • On land and in the sea and sky,
    • In summertime, in wintertime,
    • Once upon a time, having a good time.
    • All kinds of colors are in the water,
    • Are in the land and in the sea.
    • All kinds of people look like a rainbow to me.
  11.
  12. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • Ins blaüe hinein,
    • Mann kann davon reden …
    • Ins blaüe hinein.
    • Within the blue.
    • One can speak about it …
    • Within the blue.
  13.
  14. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • A cube has height, length and depth.
    • A room has height, length and depth.
    • A painting has height, length …
    • Depth …
    • I am trying to make it visible on the surface of the canvas.
    • There is left and there’s right.
    • There is above and under.
    • There is forward and backward.
    • In and out.
    • There is a surface to hold this all.
    • I am keeping my balance,
    • I am using the tools I have.
    • To visualize the depth, to create …
    • A space, using geometrical
    • Mathematical structures,
    • Parallels,
    • Crossing in infinity.
    • The paint is slow,
    • I am taking the time it needs,
    • Time is slowly passing by …
    • Balancing on a surface.
    • In silence.
    • In time.
    • In no time.
  15.
  16. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • Then there is the wind,
    • Whispering, caressing, seducing,
    • Soft breezes, mighty storms…
    • Feeling it in my mussels and bones.
    • I see the wind in the sea,
    • In the clouds covering the sky,
    • I feel the wind, crushing, caressing, capturing …
    • One with the wind and sea.
    • A world moving on and on.
    • From one end to an other.
    • Into and from a deep blue sky,
    • Into and from a deep blue sea.
    • The wind is whispering stories,
    • The wind with all its strength.
    • The wind is telling me dreams,
    • And I believe them all.
  17.
  18. WITHIN THE BLUE
    • Schroef, propeller,
    • Back and forward in a ‘flat’ object.
    • A painting of a propeller lying in half a bowl,
    • dug out in a wall.
    • Trying to move back and forward.
    • Giving the impression of movement in a ‘flat’ space
    • to highlight, to confirm the sense of space.
    • resting on their square supports,
    • to unite in the center, where they divide,
    • where they, in the distance,
    • embrace half a bowl.
    • Beyond that I cannot see.
    • Parallels visually crossing in infinity.
    • The distance is reduced to nearby,
    • where the propeller is balancing on its square supports.
    • The size of the bowl is not defined but limited to the size of the painting.
    • Prospective is used and maybe reduced, to see a propeller lying in half a bowl.
    • While focusing on the center or on the edges,
    • where are resting the square supports,
    • the movement becomes automatically clear.
    • The straight lines of the parallels bend over,
    • wrestling to come forward.
    • To set themselves free.
  19.
    • Ciao-ciao
    • Bye-bye
    • Thanks for watching.
