One day a farmers donkey fell down into a well. The animal criedpiteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed tobe covered up anyway it just wasnt worth it to retrieve thedonkey.He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They allgrabbed a shovel and begin to shovel dirt into the well. At first,the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.Then, to everyones amazement he quieted down. A few shovelloads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and wasastonished at! what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that fellon his back, the donkey was doing some thing amazing. Hewould shake it off and take a step up. As the farmersneighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, hewould shake it off and take a step up.Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped upover the edge of the well and totted off! Life is going to shoveldirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick is too not to get boggeddown by it. We can get out of the deepest wells by notstopping. And by never giving up!
