  • At different stages of the crisis may employ any of the above or more than one at the same time. Important to realize which to use at the appropriate time.
  • Today a press statement which is aired instantly on social media – youtube or facebook is a very likely occurance. So care must be taken for it to be as faultless as possible.
  • Pastel colours or soft shades are fine. Avoid high contrast like black and white, red, horizontal stripes, small checks, large jewellery. Not to prepare is to prepare for disaster. Sound bite era People need to feel you care about what you are saying. “ We will pursue our objective of obtaining news of nationals in Tunisia with all the resources at our command.”
  • Communication is always important but becomes crucial during crisis situations. Why? Without communications, negative feelings. One must avoid that because the task at hand is already very delicate and difficult, so facilitating.

Keep the writing simple and newsworthy. </li></ul><ul><li>Repeat contact info at the bottom of the release. </li></ul><ul><li>Proof read. </li></ul>
