Well, for me, it was all pretty simple. I had been playing the Sims for a long while and wanted something new to challenge me. It wasn’t until quite a bit in that I realized that I wanted to really tell a story.
It started as a basic Alphabet legacy with my favorite sci-fi and fantasy characters as inspiration. Even the name of the founder, Lucas Whedonberry, was a combination of the three creators who I’d enjoyed the most in my life:
Gene Rodden berry
Well, it’s been more than two years since I posted my first chapter, so I thought that we could all use a recap.
As it turned out, the youngest found herself quite susceptible to going dark side. She became a demon-possessed vampire, killing her husband almost instantly. Luckily, her children had already run far away…
They escaped to the nearby village of Bluewater where Angel’s children Boba, B’ellana, Blade, Bashir, and Buffy were safe to grow up strong with Angel’s brother Anakin. Anakin was, incidentally, a pirate once, but that’s not important.
Buffy was chosen as heir and raised three children (Chakotay, Cardassia, and Cordelia) with a gentleman named Amin Sims.
Sure, there were challenges, just like any other family. Cordelia got pregnant in high school. It happens that way some times, but she married Johnny Smith. Their daughter was named Dawn Elizabeth. Even with Johnny being away at LFT for his teaching degree, they were as happy as any young couple. At least they were for a while. Johnny was at La Fiesta Technical College when he got the call…
An alien virus attacked the village of Bluewater. Patient Zero was the Buffy’s eldest child, Chakotay. Fear bred a mob.
The Mob Fires of Bluewater would be talked about for years. All of them were killed, every last Whedonberry. Maybe I should have taken it as a sign, but I didn’t.
I searched for ages, trying to find a way to bring them back. Only one could be saved. I arranged the procedure. I doctored the reports that made rewrote history. I did everything desperate men do when faced with a harsh reality: I changed reality to resurrect a life. It was the first time I ever interfered. Cordelia Whedonberry would be my Lazarus rising.
I knew I had to choose a scientist. Someone who understood the way things worked. Strangetown had plenty to choose from, but only one with a connection. It had to be the Smiths.
I took the child that I had created and raised and gave her away to strangers. The fact that they loved her as their own is the only hope I have for her forgiveness.
This new life was not without its complications. Every moment near Cordelia was a reminder of what he had lost. And he had no right to burden her with a past that wasn’t really hers.
And they found that sometimes people are made for each other.
They had four children: Deanna, Derrial, Dean, and Drusilla.
Deanna married Pao Fleig after a tumultuous college courtship. The found out that Deanna would be unable to have children of their own due to her genetic mix of alien and cloned DNA. Furthermore, it would be unlikely that any of the Whedonberry siblings would be able to procreate. Deanna and Pao moved to the Andes Mountains where they study the Llama worship rituals of the indigenous people…
… where they adopted Maya. The three couldn’t be happier.
Derrial Book Whedonberry became a pastor with the Holy Light Order of Shepherds and leads worship in a church outside of Bluewater.
I may have been indirectly involved with that decision.
Dean Wincester Whedonberry, ever fascinated with the supernatural, followed his dreams to seek out werewolves. He went to Terra Lostundo, which was, unbeknownst to him, a completely different universe. He participated in a reality show and won the heart of Terra Lostundo native Miranda Legacina. They’re now married in both universes.
Drusilla Ashlyn Whedonberry is the youngest of her siblings and the only one with children of her own…
The bargain that made her a mother was the only way to save her father’s life.
