BOD Group building• 13 March, 2013 - Building Commission signed theact of building completion.• 28 March, 2013 - the building awarded as themost innovative building in Lithuania at thebuilding competition "Green City - the best REECO Project 2012“• 9 September, 2009 Government of Lithuaniadeclared that the Integrated Science, Studies andBusiness Centre (Valley) “Santara” developmentproject group is an economic project of publicinterest.• Investment into geothermal system reaches over4 Million LTL (1,16 Million EUR). The pay off isplaanned in 3 years. The building maintance willuse 60% less gas and electricity, so annually willbe saved ~0,85 Million LTL (0,25 Million EUR).• BOD Group building – the first in Eastern Europeusing geothermal energy for heating and coolingthe premises and manufacturing equipment.• Swedbank invested 37 Million LTL (10,16 MillionEUR) into the building.
Building construction solutions• Building area - 28 800 m². Construction worth over 45 million LTL (13 million Euros).• 108 bores drilled into the depth of 148 meters for geothermal system. They are connectedwith heating pumps by the piping system (length of 17 km).• The precast reinforced concrete was used for building constructions. The columns stand outfor the large amount of consoles. A part of reinforced concrete joists were also designed in aconsole type. This kind of reinforced concrete columns and joists with consoles is one of themost unique solutions of the building.• Over 6000 m² of panels were used for the façade, 500 m² of them are bent. The majority ofthem are filled with fire protection polyurethane foam “IPN Firesafe”. The thermal resistanceof building reaches 5 m² K/W, so the heating costs will be low.• The interior is designed using the frameless glass partitions. In total over 24 000 m² of glass.• In the underground car parking there was projected a highly effective ventilation andsmoke exhaust system with flow fans, rejecting a traditional air tube system which takes alot of space. The heating, cooling and ventilation systems can be managed with acentralized, easy programmed control system connected to the Internet.• On the roof of the building the experimental solar modules will be integrated as a laboratoryfor manufactured solar products. Solar modules of 200 kWp will satisfy ~20% of annualelectricity needs of the building.
