  • The Professional Development Programme aims to enhance employability with:
    • Workshops on the recruitment process
    • Sessions on skills development
    • Overview of career opportunities in various sectors
    • Opportunities to network with company representatives and alumni
    • Signposting to other opportunities available within the University and wider community which can enhance your skills and boost your professional profile
  • Friday workshops – Semester 1
    • Weeks 1-5: Recruitment workshops
    • 9.15-11.15: International Management, Management and ITM 8W 1.1
    • 12.15-2.15: Marketing and Accounting & Finance 8W 1.1
    • 8 October: Online applications and aptitude tests (CAS)
    • 15 October: Assessment Centres (PwC)
    • 22 October: Interview Skills (P&G)
    • 29 October: CVs and covering letters (School of Management)
    • 5 November: Commercial Awareness (Zurich/KPMG)
    • Weeks 6-10: Drop ins
    • For 1-1 advice and guidance (eg CV, online checking, recruitment advice)

    • Dates to be confirmed: Mock interviews
    • With company – feedback given on CV, covering letter and interview.
    • You need to attend a drop in session to review your CV and covering letter before you can take part in a mock interview
  • When should you apply for a graduate role?
    • ‘ Before settling down to serious study and gaining the best degree possible, now is the time to apply for jobs. Leave it until spring, when you should be focusing on final exams, and you may well have left it too late.’ 2 September 2010
