  12. 12. Living Room The Design Problem The Clients’ new tract-home Living Room was ‘cookie-cutter’ boring and not suited to their fun-loving, active lifestyle. The Design Solution For these young & hip clients, a new Adult Playroom with contemporary finishes was designed & built by this firm’s team. A new angled granite fireplace surround was designed and fabricated with mitered edges on all sides giving the effect of a solid block of stone. The custom maple & stainless steel pool table repeats elements used elsewhere in the home. The custom redesigned display niche reflects the 20’ high Venetian plaster wall & leads into the Playroom. Clear maple floors flow throughout this space and the rest of the lower floor. It’s not just the color palette that’s ‘Cool’ in this space!
