    • EAP 1500 Advanced Listening and Speaking
      • Taught both completely online and blended
    • Course Objectives
    • I. To improve the student’s listening comprehension in authentic academic and social settings.
    • II. To improve the student’s note-taking, summarizing, and synthesizing skills.
    • III. To improve the student’s oral expression for academic and social purposes.
    • IV. To increase the student’s vocabulary and strategies for continued growth.
    • V. To increase the student’s confidence and intelligibility when speaking in public.
    • VI. To expose the student to an array of college resources, both human and electronic.
    • VII. To expose the student to an array of college content, vocabulary, and concepts.
    • VIII. To familiarize the student with North American academic culture and expectations.

    • We need to:
      • make online classes dynamic and interactive
      • maintain integrated skills approach to L2 teaching/learning
      • encourage independent learning
      • provide continuous feedback
