      • Social media are primarily Internet-and mobile-based tools for sharing and discussing information among human beings.

      • Number of people who trust the recommendations of other consumers =

      • The mainstream media world-wide are blogs and as a collective rival any traditional media, 73% have read a blog.
      • 57% of people online have joined a Social Network.
      • Rise in internet advertising = 70.2% = £2.8bn
      • Digital Natives, aged 16-24, who had broadband in their homes claimed that they would miss the internet (47%) more than TV (41%).

      • Yesterday = Print media
      • Today = Traditional + Social media
      • Tomorrow= Social Media

      • YouTube hits = 6,876,524 times so far
      • Not one recipe or formula that fits in every situation,
      • Not one size fits all approach.
      • BUT
      • There is an important lesson to be learnt here, if your consumers are on line, it’s best to reach them online.
      • Traditional media is slowly becoming history.
