 Check the beach water
quality before you arrive at
the beach
 Make sure there are no
hidden pollutants in the water
 Visit the Environmental
Protection Agency’s website
to find out the current water
quality report for your chosen
beach

4. SUN PROTECTION
 The sun’s UV rays can be
very damaging to your skin
 Always remember to use
sunscreen even on cloudy
days
 Add extra sunscreen
between 10 am and 4 pm
when the sun’s rays are
the most dangerous
 Opt to use a natural
sunscreen which is better
for your skin and the
environment due to the
lack of chemically active
ingredients

5. TOPPING OFF YOUR CAR’S GAS TANK
 Avoid overfilling your gas
tank on hot days
 Every gas spill evaporates
which can add to air pollution
 To err on the safe side,
always maintain your gas
tank with just enough fuel
without it being filled to
capacity or worst yet ---
overfilled.

6. AIR QUALITY
 Make sure to check your
region’s air quality on a
frequent basis
 Ground level ozone can be
the most harmful during the
warmest part of the day
 If your region is experiencing
a bad ozone day it may be
better to stay indoors until
the air quality improves
