Following the successful hosting of the UK South India Business Meet, UK Karnataka Business Meet, UK Kerala Business Meet and various other state Business Meets at the Houses of Parliament, BSICC, in partnership with UKTNCC, is organising the UK Tamil Business Meet on 8th May 2014 at Houses of Parliament, Westminster, London. This business meet will be chaired by Mr Virendra Sharma MP( Southall, UK), Chairperson of BSICC. The audience will include representatives from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Members of House of Lords & House of Commons, representatives from other Indian states/ other countries and businessmen from India who are successful in UK.

Following the successful hosting of the UK South India Business Meet, UK Karnataka Business Meet, UK Kerala Business Meet and various other state Business Meets at the Houses of Parliament, BSICC, in partnership with UKTNCC, is organising the UK Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Business Meet on 8th May 2014 at Houses of Parliament, Westminster, London. This business meet will be chaired by Mr Virendra Sharma MP( Southall, UK), Chairperson of BSICC. The audience will include representatives from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Members of House of Lords & House of Commons, representatives from other Indian states/ other countries and businessmen from India who are successful in UK. Tamil Nadu is one of the most developed states in the country. Literacy level in the state is one of the highest among all Indian states. The state is witnessing rapid industrialization with overall economic development and has grown as a manufacturing powerhouse in the country, especially in automobiles and textiles. The state's capital city, Chennai is called the 'Detroit of India'. Tamil Nadu is one of the most visited states in India for higher education. Tamil Nadu has made tremendous progress in infrastructure development. Infrastructure development of Tamil Nadu is rated as “one of the Best” by several independent studies. Tamil Nadu is in the forefront of the Indian sub-continent in providing an efficient transport services to the people. Tamil Nadu offers state-of-art telecom infrastructure for high speed large volume data transfer, video conferencing, etc. to meet the requirements of software / BPO companies. Some of India's well-known healthcare institutions such as Apollo Hospitals (the largest private healthcare provider in Asia), Sankara Nethralaya,Madras Medical Mission(MMM),Frontier Lifeline & K.M.Cherian heart foundation and Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre are based in the city, making it one of the preferred destinations for medical tourists from across the globe. Its long coastline and resource base provides enough opportunities to develop its fisheries and agro-processing industries. It has also performed well at the export front. The principal export items are leather, chemicals, textiles, metallic products, etc. As background, BSICC is an umbrella body of South Indian communities in UK, formed with the intention to raise UK companies awareness to enormous potential opportunities in the South Indian states and encourage them to trade and invest in South Indian States.
