The future is in our hands – Our hands are quite important. They are a vital part of who we are and how we see ourselves. But on occasions due to ageing, unfortunate events or demanding hand activities, they lose strength and grip.
2. NUADA the silver hand.
NUADA was an important figure in Celtic mythology.
According to the myth, at one point NUADA was the king of all
gods and goddesses. However, during a great battle, Nuada's
arm was severed from his body. This unfortunate wound
immediately disqualified Nuada from the rank of king; he was no
longer ”perfectly strong” and so, he was forced to abdicate.
It was the clever god Dian Cecht who in part regained Nuada his
fortune, by creating a silver arm to replace the one that had
been lost. And it was with this powerful and precious new arm
that the overthrown king recouped his throne, receiving the title
"Nuada Argetlamh", aka "Nuada of the Silver Hand”.
