    2. What is aws?
      • Aws is a service which enables users to have access to
        • Servers and machines-ec2
        • Storage-s3 and ebs
        • Webstore-associates
        • Database-simpledb
        • Job Queue service -sqs
        • Worker service-mechanical turk
          • in a Pay as you use service
    3. Ec2-aws servers
      • This is a service where you can
        • run a machine According to the parameters you specify- machines are known as images
        • You can create your own type of server with os, applications ,data and settings
        • More than 10,000 different template machines available for use
        • 5 main types of servers
    4. S3=storage on aws
      • S3 is a amazons type of storage
      • The file size could be from a kilobyte to a terabyte
      • The primary interface is through a command line interface
      • There are various software programs which allow the user to store data directly to s3
    5. Ebs –storage on ec2
      • Ebs is amazons way of providing storage
        • in its servers or ec2
      • It allows a user to store data in the form of devices or images on ec2
      • One can allocate a block of storage from 1 gb to 100 gb
      • The stored data can then be saved into s3 in the form of snapshots
    6. Simpledb- aws database
      • Simpledb is amazons version of the database
      • It is identical to a sql
      • It has similar commands and runs like sql
      • It is used in controlling the aws services
    7. Sqs- simple queue service
      • Sqs is simple queue service
      • It is a system of placing jobs /operations in a ordered manner
      • Sqs is used in controlling ec2 and s3 operations
      • It is also used in doing batch jobs using aws
    8. Associates – selling amazons products
      • In associates
        • one can earn money
        • by selling amazons products
        • by placing links on
          • The blogs
          • Websites
          • Email
    9. Mechanical turk- working aws way
      • Mechanical turk is aws way of letting one
        • Work on projects in the list
        • Hiring to do some work that one needs
      • The work is displaying in the form of short tasks known as hits
      • There is a 0.1-1$ per work finished
    10. Aws versus normal servers
      • aws
      • The usage is billed on a per hour
      • The server is of your choice and model
      • Customization is available more
      • The servers are stored in amazons data center
      • Templates available
      • Normal data center
      • The usage is billed on a per month basis
      • There are restrictions on the type of server you can use
      • Less chances of customization
      • Data center location is unknown
      • No templates on aws available

      • rightscale
      • Rightscale offers a free trial of 10 hours to use
      • They have a free edition which allows users to run ec2 –s3 and ebs
      • The price is the usage you use for aws
      • Ylastic
      • Ylastic offers a pay per month package
      • It is similar to rightscale but better
      • Costs 50$ per month plus aws charges

      • There are various other tools that are available
        • There are command line tools
        • Like ec2ui
        • Jollat
        • Cloudstudio
