  • 1. Reaching Out Spreading God’s Word in Sudan.
  • 2. Introduction a few facts.
    • Sudan is a big place, really big.
    • It’s as big as Europe.
    • Churches in a country are divided into Dioceses. Each Diocese has a Bishop.
    • The Diocese of Salisbury is a good example.
    • Sudan has 24 Dioceses, each wants to tell people about God.
  • 3. The Problem
    • In Sudan even the good roads are bad.
  • 4. More Problems
    • Cars break down on bad roads.
    • There are almost no garages.
    • Walking is just too slow.
    • Reaching out to people isn’t easy.
  • 5. The Solution
    • Bicycles allow people to reach out further.
  • 6. What This All Means
    • Priests can visit more people.
    • More people hear God’s word.
    • The church wants to help people learn about God.
    • So that they can reach out to God.
  • 7. The Bishops Synod.
    • Here are all the Bishops of Sudan.
    • They have just had a meeting called a Synod.
    • They want to reach out to everyone in Sudan – it’s a very big job.
  • 8. Discussion Time.
    • If you were a Bishop how would you reach out to people and tell them about God.
    • Is reaching out easier or harder in Sudan.
    • What things can we do to help.
    • Juba Diocese wants 90 bicycles. Would helping them be a good thing.
    • How much does a bicycle cost.
  • 9. A Last Fact.
    • A bicycle costs £100.00, but it’s worth a fortune.
