Drs. Gilbert Silvius (1963) studeerde Bedrijfskunde en Bedrijfseconomie aan achtereenvolgens de Koninklijke Militaire Academie, de Erasmus Universiteit en de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Hij heeft meer dan twintig jaar ervaring als consultant en projectmanager op het snijvlak van business en ICT. Hij combineert dit werk met de rol van lector aan de HU. Drs. Gilbert Silvius is lector Business, ICT en Innovatie sinds 2008.

(Gartner Group). • 35 to 50% of the electricity consumed by a data center is used to cool the servers (Gartner Group). • With Virtualization could raise the utilization of servers by 20% on average now about 90% (PC Energy Report source). (Fujitsu) • The PC manufacturing process accounts for 70% of the natural resources used in the life cycle of a PC. (Gartner Group) • Manufacturing a new PC makes a far bigger ecological footprint than manufacturing a new RAM module to upgrade an existing one (Gartner Group)
