  • Research Outline • Supporting complex system design for system architects in the Future Workspace (working together across space and time) • Architects who are developing complex systems need information and knowledge overviews • These overviews need to be flexible and easy accesible in order to obtain insights from experts Research Objectives • Research about the design of complex systems and about communication and collaboration, visualizing knowledge and user needs in complex system design • Design of an implementation of a tool that supports complex system design • Evaluation of the impact of this tool using tests • An analysis of the use of the tool and the research in different contexts
  • How can be participated? • Interviews with several employees involved in complex systems design or with similar activities, in order to answer research questions and give insights in complex system design in practice • Participation in small-scale and specific tests (the tests can be follow- up interviews or practical tests) What can be gained? • Insights in using Future Workspace methods to support complex system design • The implemented tool can offer solutions to existing problems or provide insights in how these problems should be solved What is the timeframe? • Interviews are planned in February 2009 • Tests take place in May 2009 • Results are delivered in July 2009 View slide
