Global Interview - If employers are planning to invest in a website content writing jobs freelance, they should ensure that they can outline to their contractors the information they want to be found in their blogs.
2. What are some guidelines and/or best practices that
will ensure project success?
• Personally, I think a short (5-10 minutes) Google or Skype talk
is better than chat during the time both client and contractor
are negotiating mutual expectations, or even in the critical
few days right after the project has started.
• Clarifications at the later stage of the project are costly but
totally avoidable if mutual expectations are cleared right from
the start.
3. What are the most common risks involved with
outsourcing projects related to your area of expertise?
• In SEO related content writing, turnaround time is very
critical. Issues like disruption of power supply, internet
connectivity, or calamity-prone areas (i.e. floods and
typhoons) should be factored in.
• Time zone differences should also be considered. In this
regard, affordable-and-fast type of writing becomes the norm
for clients to demand from contractors.
• This is a valid concern for both sides, but more unreasonable
pressure is put on the contractor’s side.
4. What are three fundamental errors that can result in
project failure on the employer’s behalf?
• Do not make unreasonable or unrealistic demands regarding
the delivery time.
• Not giving time allowances for contractors’ personal or
emergency needs.
5. What are three fundamental errors that can result in
project failure on the freelancer’s behalf?
• Do not over commit. Or to put in another way, do not bite
more than you could chew. Give time allowances for family
and health concerns, even factors beyond your control such
as typhoons, traffic and floods, power and internet service
interruptions.
• Do not bid low just to get the project. Remember you have
electric and DSL bills to pay, not to mention some amount for
your personal and family needs.
• Do not break the trust and confidence the client gives you. All
your client-contractor relationships are built on them.
