    • This demonstrates that you are improving relevant knowledge and skills in your subject area and teaching or training.
    • A wide range of formal and informal activities could count as meaningful professional development.
    What is CPD (according to the IfL)?
  • 3. ACTIVITY
    • What activities would you include on your CPD record?
  • 4.
    • Reading relevant journal articles or reviewing books
    • Training courses or formal development or study
    • Peer review, mentoring or shadowing
    • Online learning including engagement in discussion forums and blogs
    • Viewing and reviewing television programmes, documentaries and the internet
    What counts as CPD?
  • 5.
    • Every full time teacher must complete 30hrs of CPD per academic year.
    • Part-time at least 6hrs (or pro-rata of 30)
    • Register with Institute for Learning (IFL) and maintain registration ( http://www.ifl.ac.uk/ )
    • Every teacher must maintain a record of their CPD and confirm this with the IfL annually

    • Wednesday morning & Friday afternoon sessions
    • Central Learning & Development function
        • College sponsored networking
