In addition to the 50Buddha statues, there is also a statue of the King.

  11. 11. • Sigiriya Frescos was first discovered by Reis Devis in 1831• The Graffiti was discovered by H.C.P. Bell in 1894• Benjamin Rowland was the first to study the painterly technique at Sigiriya which isvery much similar to paintings at Ajanta.• It is one of the important urban planning in the first millennium, with combinesconcepts of symmetry and asymmetry .• water gardens, contain a complex network of underground water distribution system,which provides water to the Royal baths• Covering an area of around 1.6 hectares, the remains of the foundations show that thesummit would have been completely covered with buildings. A pond scooped out ofsolid rock measuring 27m x 21m, looks like a modern rooftop pool. A smooth slab of flatstone, often referred to as the kings stone throne, faces the rising sun.
