Transcript

  • 1. 5 THESIS ON 3D PRINTING HOW THE WAY WE CHOOSE, OFFER AND PRODUCE PRODUCTS WILL CHANGE.
  • 2. DIGITAL DESIGN WILL SIMPLY BE SENT VIA MAIL. 3D Printing reduces logistic costs drastically and makes international sourcing possible.
  • 3. THE STOREHOUSE WILL BE MEASURED IN BITS NOT IN FEET. Storing digital information for 3D printers is nearly free. That opens up the possibility to offer a huge, worldwide homogenous product portfolio.
  • 4. PRODUCTS ARE SOLD BEFORE THEIR REAL EXISTENCE 3D prints can be produced on demand. Just-in-time manufacturing has great advantages like little excess and no prefinancing cost.
  • 5. TODAY IT‘S ONLY IN YOUR HEAD, TOMORROW IT‘S IN THE STORE. 3D printing enables designers to implement their creations right away. Trend cycles shrink to days rather than weeks and adaptions to existing products are a matter of a few hours.
  • 6. DESIGN IS INTERACTION, NOT TRANSACTION 3D printing liberalizes the access to production resources. Manufacturer and brand thus lose influence. Designers are the new rockstars.
