Training <ul><li>Storming </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Degrees of conflict over issues of power, leadership, and decision making. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Conflict cannot be avoided during this stage </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>It is the most crucial stage the team must work through. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>How will I seek my autonomy? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Who do I support? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Who supports me? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>How much influence do I have? </li></ul></ul></ul>

Training <ul><li>Norming </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Reached after working through the storming stage to discover common interests . </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Learn to appreciate differences, work better together, problem solve together. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>What kind of relationships can we develop? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Will we be successful as a team? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>How do we measure up to other teams? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>What is my relationship to the team leader? </li></ul></ul></ul>

Training <ul><li>Performing </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Fully functioning team: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>can define tasks. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>can work out relationships successfully. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>can manage conflicts. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>can work together to accomplish mission. </li></ul></ul></ul>

Training <ul><li>Results </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Which Stage are we in? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Survey Results </li></ul></ul><ul><li>The Forming and Performing scores are equal = we are going through a transitional phase. </li></ul><ul><li>The small difference among the four scores, may also indicate one of the following: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>that we have no clear perception of the way our team operates </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>our team's behaviors are highly variable or </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>that we are in the Storming phase (this phase can be extremely volatile with high and low points). </li></ul></ul>

( Mission ) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>To Win with Customers, Associates and Shareholders </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>What do we need to do to succeed? ( Vision ) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>To be the preferred shopping choice of middle America </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>How are we going to get it done? ( Strategy ) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Customers – emotional connection </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Merchandise – inspire customer </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Associates – preferred choice for a retail career </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Performance – THE growth leader in the retail industry </li></ul></ul></ul>
