The Spanish School of La Herradura, Spain, is located right on the beach of La Herradura. This local, and very Spanish town is an ideal and safe place to learn Spanish, make friends, meet the locals, and get immersed into the Spanish Culture. It is also an ideal location to practice all kinds of (water) sports, such as sailing, surfing,
kayaking, diving, tennis, golf, horseback riding, paragliding, hiking, or canyoning.

It has a comfortable climate all year around, and very attractive backland. The region is surrounded by 3 mountain chains; the Axarquía, the Alpujarras and the famous Sierra Nevada, where you can ski
during the winter months (November through March).

In the near proximity you will find several interesting villages with a large historical heritage, such as Granada, Almuñecar, Salobreña, Frigiliana and Malaga. Cities like Sevilla and Cordoba can be visited
during the weekend. For this program we have made a selection of locations to visit that form a good mix of culture and beauty, and within close reach. With the highlight of the trip the visit to the
Moorish Fort the Alhambra.

Teachers and teaching methods:

The Spanish Lanuguage School"La Herradura" is staffed by experienced, qualified instructors with a proven track record of professional achievement.

We design syllabuses and academic programs ourselves. Focus is normally placed on lucid, activity- oriented teaching practice. We carefully source learning materials and class handouts to adapt to our
students profiles. Assessment and teaching are performed according to the guidelines laid out on the CFER. Our methodology adheres to the Communicative Language Teaching approach (CLT) and the
School is an accredited center of the Institute of Cervantes, the Spanish Government agency in charge of promoting and teaching Spanish language & culture worldwide.

Groups will be made up according to the results of the Level Tests done on the first day of classes. Two hours daily will be dedicated to grammar, in which you can expect a teacher-led explanation of
an area of grammar, with spoken and written examples, exercises, and opportunities to practice and ask questions.

The focus in these classes is on understanding and accuracy. Two hours daily will be dedicated to conversation, with a discussion appropriate to the level led by the teacher but taking into account
the students’ interests and views. The focus in these classes is on self-expression and fluency, although the teacher will correct errors or clarify grammar as appropriate. More info: www.spanish-school-herradura.com
