  • Dropbox Tutorial for Southern Circuit Filmmakers
  • For Southern Circuit 2012/2013 we will be using Dropbox to deliver promotional materials from filmmakers to all screening venues. If you are unfamiliar with Dropbox, we have prepared this tutorial to assist you.
  • Step 1:Dropbox will send an email inviting you to use a shared folder for your film.The email will look like the image below. If you do not receive this emailplease check your spam folders and then call us to be sure that we haveyour correct email address.Step 2:Click on the View Film Title link within the email. Your folder name will beyour film title.
  • Step 3:When you click the link in the email, it will open up the Dropbox sign-in page in yourinternet browser. Step 4: If you have a Dropbox account, enter your information and sign in. (skip to slide 6) -or- If you do not have a Dropbox account then you will need to click the create an account link shown below. It only takes a name, log-in and password to get an account.
  • Step 5:Clicking this link will bring up the Create an account screen below.Enter your information and click Create account.
  • Step 6:Below is an example of what the home screen will look like once youare logged in. To be able to view your shared folder, click on theSharing link on the left (it should have a red “1” floating beside it).
  • Step 7:The Sharing screen will look like the image below. Click theenvelope icon that says 1 new shared folder invitation.
  • Step 8:The dialogue box below will appear. You should see our folder,Southern Circuit. Click Accept.
  • Step 9:If your film’s folder doesn’t open automatically click the folder name, Film Title .Step 10:This folder is where you should upload all of your marketing materials. You can uploadimages, videos, and word documents into this folder. To upload a file, click the uploadicon, click Choose files and select the file or files from your computer
  • Step 11:After you upload your image, video, or document, you should see the filelisted in your film folder. Now I will be able to transfer that file to the folderfor your venues. After I move your file it will no longer be visible in your filmfolder. ** If you have any problems uploading files, accepting the Dropbox share invitation, or if you have any questions please contact me at anicks@southarts.org or 404-874-7244.
