With the invention of the telephone, people no longer sent telegraphed messages, which took a longer time. <br />The telephone enhanced the way people communicate in that it is more instant over long distances. The telephone allowed people to communicate over distances with no delay, as in face to face communication.<br />Telephone<br />The idea of the telephone began in 1664-1665 by Robert Hooke. Thin wires were tied to the base of two cup-like devices. With users standing at opposite ends. Sound waves vibrated the string and travelled along it.
