Received the helpdesk ticket where user X with phone Y complaining about VoIP issues 2. VoIP engineer needs to see call manager logs, or several 3rd party tools to confirm the problem (MOS, jitter, latency of a call, used codec, signaling path) 3. VoIP engineer needs to cooperate with Network Engineer to locate network devices that are on the path of call connection (switches, routers, link types) 4. VoIP & Network Engineer need to go and figure the weak point in a connection and fix it. 5. Network Engineer updates QoS policies, routing tables or VLAN configurations. VoIP Engineer may update configuration on call manager or VoIP gateway in order to solve the problem. 2
