Best Practices for Your SQL Server Dedicated Server  For a large DB and NetFlow…  Use 64 bit with as much RAM as you can  Try RAMDisk™  Directly attached storage if you can  SAN should not be read-optimized  Always use RAID 10 – the more spindles the better  Use 15,000 RPM if possible  Check SQL write disk queue length – should be about the same as the number of spindles you are using.
