Managing a datacenter is harder than ever. There are new requirements from virtualization, on-demand computing, and video & voice make real-time monitoring, systems analysis and capacity planning increasingly difficult, but critical for business continuity. Got datacenter management questions? Need help? This webcast is for you.

We’ll cover the basics of data center management as well some of the hot topics today, like virtualization and cloud computing.

• Analyzing datacenter network, systems, and storage performance
• Capacity planning in an environment of physical and virtual infrastructures
• The impact of the cloud - Do you need it and why you should care?
• Strategies for virtual machine management
• Network configuration management in the datacenter

  • What is significant about virtualization? It’s not just the server, but also other components that you have to account for like switches and storage. The ecosystem is no longer static, it’s very dynamic and interdependent.Years ago you may have dealt with a relatively simple architecture. Most of the storage was in the server or directly attached. There was a line of site – application A is running on server 1. And this was static – it didn’t change much.Today, datacenters are highly virtualized. It used to be the storage was in the server. Today the server is in the storage!
