  1. 1. This Week In Tech March 15 -21, 2014 IBM announced plans to use its Watson computer to analyze existing genome data to help personalize cancer treatments. Google saw an hours-long outage of a number of its apps, including Google Sheets and Google+ Hangouts, on Monday afternoon. Officials within the Turkish government are attempting to restrict access to Twitter, calling the ban a“protection measure.” Oracle officially released Java 8 , the platform’s first major update since 2011, which includes support for Lambda expressions. Facebook announced the release of Hack, its new programming language for HHVM that will“intercooperate seamlessly with PHP.” In a meeting with shareholders, HP CEO Meg Witman hinted that the company will make a big splash in the 3D printing space this summer.
