The Research Council of Norway Globalization Of The Environment, Energy, And Climate Research •  Grant Type: Research & Development •  Amount: NOK 11,000,000 •  Geographic Focus: Norway •  Deadline: 12th October 2011 http://www.forskningsradet.no/en/Funding/NORGLOBAL/1253967794301? progId=1244733920794&visAktive=true •  Totally NOK 11 millions per year is granted to research on globalization of the environment, energy and climate. The funds shall contribute to strengthen the knowledge base in the South and Norway, and contribute to tackle long-term environmental issues and the commitments in relation to the Norwegian Action plan for Environment in Development Cooperation. The funds shall also contribute to strengthen the Norwegian institutions role as good global partners within this area. The Ashden Awards Ashden Awards For Sustainable Energy 2012 •  Grant Type: Prize/ Award •  Amount: £40.000 •  Geographic Focus: Global •  Deadline: 18th October 2011 http://www.ashdenawards.org/int_awards •  The International Ashden Awards are cash prizes of £20 thousand to £40 thousand to support projects in sustainable energy in Africa, Asia (including China), and Latin America and the Caribbean. The competition is open to businesses, NGOs, social enterprises, and government organizations. Themes for 2012 include micro finance and carbon finance for energy projects; new energy products for low-income customers; renewable electricity; renewable fuels; and energy-related actions that reduce deforestation. Information materials are available in English, French, Mandarin, and Spanish. Stockholm International Water Institute Stockholm Water Prize 2012 •  Grant Type: Prize / Award •  Amount: $150,000 •  Geographic Focus: Global •  Deadline: 15th September 2011 http://www.siwi.org/stockholmwaterprize/nominate •  The Stockholm Water Prize is awarded annually for outstanding achievements supporting the availability, conservation, and protection of the world’s water resources. The award is open to individuals and organizations of any nationality whose work contributes broadly to the conservation and protection of water resources. British Ecological Society Netherlands Global Development Research (WOTRO) •  Grant Type: Research & Development •  Amount: €700,000 maximum budget •  Geographic Focus: Netherlands •  Deadline: 24th September 2011 http://www.britishecologicalsociety.org/about_bes/ •  The Integrated Programme (IP) scheme is aimed at supporting excellent problem-oriented interdisciplinary research to the benefit of development and societal issues in the South. Since its inception in 2000, the GCC/Levant chapter of the grants programme has supported at least 130 projects with more than $1 million granted to date.•  In 2011, the Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants - supported by UNESCO - will provide support to creative projects focused on Conservation Engineering, Protection of the Natural Environment and Environmental Education. German Federal Ministry of Education and Research International Partnerships for Sustainable Technologies and Services for Climate Protection and the Environment •  Grant Type: Research & Development •  Amount: €60,000 •  Geographic Focus: Global •  Deadline: 31st August 2012 http://www.bmbf.de/en/furtherance/14892.php •  The aim of the funding measure is to introduce model projects to help establish and expand international partnerships in the research, development and application of environmental and climate protection technologies and services and to trigger the development of lead markets in this area.
