  1. 1. Six Sigma Certificate Program What is Six Sigma? Developed by Motorola and popularized by GE, Six Sigma is a highly disciplined process that helps organizations deliver near-perfect products and services. Sigma is a statistical term that measures how far a given process deviates from perfection. To achieve Six Sigma quality, a process must pro- duce no more than 3.4 defects per million. Six Sigma principles can be applied in businesses of all types and have helped organizations improve time to market, reduce costs, increase revenues, im- prove productivity, increase market share, and complete projects successfully. Offered through Xavier Leadership Center, part of Xavier University, the Six Sigma Certificate Program not only allows participants to learn the concepts, but to demonstrate their ability to successfully apply these practices and deliver results on Six Sigma projects within their organizations. Recognized as one of our most popular offerings, the Six Sigma Certificate Program reflects the best practices within the industry. We include case studies, exam- ples and assignments applied directly to participants’ business issues. Certification Requirements Xavier will recognize your achievement with a Six Sigma certificate once you have demonstrated your ability not just to learn the concepts, but to successfully apply them on your own Six Sigma projects within your respective area of your organization.
