  • 4. <ul><li>The College’s public website www.lorainccc.edu is a primary means of advertising the institution’s programs and services. </li></ul><ul><li>The Marketing and Outreach Initiatives, is responsible for all College publications including credit and non-credit schedules, program brochures, direct mail campaigns, print, television and radio ads, e-marketing campaigns and outreach initiatives to the county schools and community. </li></ul><ul><li>A variety of marketing materials are available for review during the Quality Checkup visit—Notebook in BU 215. </li></ul><ul><li>The following statement is provided on-line and in the LCCC College Catalog (page 10 of 2007-2008 catalog): </li></ul><ul><ul><li>“ The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accredits Lorain County Community College to award the associate of arts, the associate of science, the associate of applied science and certificates.” </li></ul></ul>Advertising &amp; Marketing Materials

  • 11. 2006 Draft Default Rate – 2.9% <ul><li>2006 Draft rate issued 2/12/08 for period 10/1/05 to 9/30/06 </li></ul><ul><li>LCCC enjoys lowest default rate at 2.9% </li></ul><ul><li>50% reduction of previous draft rate </li></ul><ul><li>According to John Pierson, US Department of Education, 26% increase in defaulters nationally for 2006. </li></ul><ul><li>Working with the US Department of Education and Ohio Two Year Colleges in Default Prevention Analysis Project </li></ul><ul><li>Changed loan servicer to SallieMae in July 1, 2005 </li></ul><ul><li>Other default prevention measures include disbursing funds 30 days into semester and requiring minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average for borrowers </li></ul>Default Rate

LCCC offers broad range of Associate and Certificate Programs. 50 Associate Degree Programs 11 One Year Technical Certificates 11 Short-Term Technical Certificates LCCC is focusing on building additional One-Year and Short-Term Stackable Certificates. These Certificates give students a point of entry toward employment and motivate students to continue their post-secondary education. Credit, Program Length, and Tuition

  • 15. <ul><li>Students complete the Ohio Transfer Module which automatically transfers to public colleges and universities. </li></ul><ul><li>Transfer Assurance Guides (TAG) guarantee students transfer courses that are applied to their major. </li></ul><ul><li>LCCC’s has a 98% approval rate for its TAG Courses. </li></ul><ul><li>There are 168 courses that are matched to a TAG/Ohio Articulation Number. </li></ul>Transfer

  • 17. <ul><li>The student meets with the individual who is the source of the grievance. If the a resolution is achieved, the matter is deemed closed </li></ul><ul><li>If a resolution is not achieved at this level, the student may request an informal review by a designated College administrator (or designee) as follows: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The Coordinator of Student Life will review student complaints involving other students </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The administrator who directly supervises (or his/her designee) an employee will review student complaints involving College employees </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>If a resolution is not achieved informally, the student may elect to initiate a formal grievance concerning the complaint. </li></ul></ul>Informal Procedure
  • 18. <ul><li>The formal procedure begins once the student files a written complaint with the College administrator who supervises the area from which the complaint originates. </li></ul><ul><li>The administrator investigates the complaint and meets with the student and the individual who is the source of the grievance as needed. </li></ul><ul><li>When meeting with the administrator, all parties involved may request to have a full time employee of the College attend the meeting as an observer. </li></ul><ul><li>The administrator must provide a written response to the student and the individual who is he source of the grievance within seven (7) days of the meeting or receipt of the written complaint. </li></ul>Formal Procedure
  • 19. <ul><li>Should the student decide to appeal the decision of the administrator, a signed statement of appeal must be submitted within seven (7) business days to the appropriate Provost/Vice President. </li></ul><ul><li>The Provost/Vice President upon review of the appeal, may elect to meet with all parties involved as needed. </li></ul><ul><li>The Provost/Vice President must respond to all parties involved concerning the disposition of the appeal within ten (10) business days. </li></ul>Appeal
  • 20. <ul><li>Students desiring to appeal the decision of the Provost/Vice President must submit a signed statement of appeal to the president’s office within seven (7) business days. </li></ul><ul><li>The President upon review of the appeal, may elect to meet with all parties involved, and must respond to all parties concerning the final review within ten (10) business days. </li></ul>Final Review
