    • Asia Pacific, broadband marketAsia Pacific, broadband marketAsia Pacific, broadband marketAsia Pacific, broadband market update, 2Q09update, 2Q09update, 2Q09update, 2Q09 � Asia Pacific had 169 million broadband subscriptions at end- 2Q09, equating to household penetration of 17.15%. � The market added 26.6 million net subscriptions in the 12 months to end-2Q09, up from 22.4 million in the preceding 12 months. � The Chinese market remained the regional kingpin with 89 million subscriptions at end-2Q09, representing nearly 53% of the region’s total. � China had almost 3.6 million net additions in 2Q09, nearly six times as many as its nearest challenger, India. � On an operator basis, Japan is the most diverse market in the region, with seven operators having more than 800,000 subscriptions. � Growth in Asia Pacific’s broadband market slowed down slightly in 2Q09, with operators adding 5.98 million subs in the quarter, down from 7.9 million in 1Q09, taking the number of subscriptions to 169 million.
